In 2017, the highly aspirational Governor's Award, was presented to Zoe Botting (Year 10) by Governor, Robert Lenko, Grace Long (Year 11) by Governor, Robert Lenko and Phoebe Mercer (Year 12) by Mr P Potter (Head of 6th Form) and Rachel Gooch (Governor) at the end of the academic year. The Award is open to all students and is designed to reward those that have shown exceptional attitude to learning. To be eligible for the Governor's Award a student must have:
- 100% attendance throughout the whole year
- Achieve "exemplary" attitude to learning in all subjects at all points throughout the year
As well as a wonderful trophy, Zoe, Grace and Phoebe were presented with Amazon vouchers to help towards their continued learning at Thurston Sixth.
