Testimonials

Next Steps Careers Event

We thought the event was excellent and there was a real positive buzz and some many enthusiastic students to talk to along with their parents.
Well done. Morrish Consulting Engineers

Many thanks for allowing the WSFT to participate in your Next Steps event.  It was an extremely busy evening with lots of interest in healthcare careers.  As always it was well organised and your team were extremely helpful and welcoming.

Miss Helen Wilson, Principal
Principal's Message

17 January 2018

Happy New Year! I hope you had a peaceful and happy Christmas break.

Term has started on a positive note with staff and students settling quickly to the business of supporting teaching and learning. I would like to wish our Year 11 students every success as they sit their GCSE Mock Examinations and to thank their parents and carers for their attendance at the recent Year 11 Parent and Student Evening.  At the same time we ran a Next Steps Careers Event which was attended by numerous employers and further education providers.  The event was well attended and in the enthusiastic words of one beaming student: “That’s it! I now know what I want to do!”

Tickets are currently on sale for our annual College Production which this year is Oliver!. Bringing vividly to life Dickens’ timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more, Lionel Bart’s sensational score includes ‘Food Glorious Food’, ‘Consider Yourself’, ‘You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two’, ‘I’d Do Anything’, ‘Oom Pah Pah’, ‘As Long As He Needs Me’ and many more.

There are well over 150 students involved in this year’s production. Those involved have worked exceptionally hard to bring this production to the stage and we hope you are able to come along and support us.  Anyone who has attended any of our previous productions will know what a wealth of talent we have at the College and we can promise once again that this is a show not to be missed.

Performances will take place on the evenings of Wednesday 21, Thursday 22, Friday 23 and Saturday 24 February 2018, commencing at 7:00pm in the Thurston Campus Auditorium.  There will also be a matinee performance on Saturday 24 February 2018, starting at 2:00pm.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our performances!

Best wishes

Helen Wilson
Principal
