Over the course of the next few weeks, students in Years 11 and 13 will be sitting external examinations. I would like to commend these students for their diligent work and commitment to their studies during their time at Thurston Community College. Now is the culmination of their hard work and I wish them every success. I hope that our students feel well prepared and are given the chance to demonstrate their skills and knowledge.
At Thurston Community College, we firmly believe in the importance of exposing our students to a diverse range of customs and beliefs, wherever possible. Part of this education is delivered through opportunities to visit other parts of the world, thereby experiencing alternative cultures. Most recently we have held the College’s Spanish Exchange, an educational visit by our Year 10 History students to Ypres and our Exchange Visit to Shanghai, which I had the pleasure of accompanying.
