2024 Ofsted Inspection
Following an inspection in March 2024, Inspectors judged that Thurston Community College continues to be a good school.
2018 Ofsted Inspection
Thurston Community College was inspected by Ofsted in March 2018. The College was graded 'good' in every Ofsted category. The inspection categories at the time of our last full inspection in 2018 were:
- Effectiveness of leadership and management
- Quality of teaching, learning and assessment
- Personal development, behaviour and welfare
- Outcomes for pupils
- 16 to 19 study programmes
These five grades, combined with effective safeguarding and good provision for students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, mean that the overall effectiveness of Thurston Community College has been judged by Ofsted to be “good”, which is in agreement with our own judgements. The visit by the Inspection Team provided valuable external scrutiny of our provision and it was helpful to receive their endorsement of our strengths and areas for improvement.
The Ofsted report highlights many good qualities of the College, including the enormous range of opportunities available to our students and the exceptional care, guidance and support they receive.
