The ARC, situated on the Thurston Campus has a dedicated team of Student Librarians who work tirelessly to make sure the ARC runs smoothly. From shelving and tidying to manning the issue desk and helping others find the books they would like; a librarian’s duty is never dull.

Every September we look to recruit new student Librarians onto the team, so if you think you have what it takes, come and see our Librarian.

We run a variety of activities through the ARC. Every morning we have our Paired Reading Scheme, in which our carefully selected Year 7 students read and listen to their Year 10 buddies.

Our Reading Challenge competition, “Around the World in 7 Books” encourages students to read for pleasure; the more they read, the more they can win.

We annually enter Suffolk Local Authority’s Book Mastermind competition in which students from Years 7 to 9 pit themselves against each other with their book knowledge.

We have welcomed well-renowned authors to the College including William Hussey, Laura Dockrill, Antonia Honeywell, Anthony Irvin and Ruth Hatfield giving exciting and informative talks to parents, carers and students.

If reading all this has whet your appetite at all, then why not have a look at our current suggested reads. Just click the picture...
