Governors

The Governing Body of Thurston Community College has a range of powers and responsibilities which it is legally required to carry out, working in a close and balanced partnership with the Principal, to ensure that the College runs effectively to provide the best possible education for all its students.

The Governing Body's responsibilities include:

  • Helping to develop College policies and development plans
  • Ensuring that the National Curriculum is delivered
  • Acting as a link with the local community
  • The appointment of staff

"Get Information About Schools" is a register of educational establishments in England and Wales, maintained by the Department for Education.  It provides information on establishments providing compulsory, higher and further education.
