Teacher Training

Active participation in Teacher Training is also central to the College’s ethos. We believe that taking an active part in Initial Teacher Training benefits our College by:

  • Encouraging teachers to reflect on and develop their own practice
  • Giving teachers opportunities for professional development in mentoring and supporting trainees
  • Bringing new ideas into the College, contributing to College Improvement Plans
  • Enabling us to forge fruitful relationships with a wide range of training providers including the University of Cambridge; the University of Bedfordshire; Suffolk and Norfolk Secondary SCITT (SCITT), Cambridge & Suffolk Schools Alliance (CASSA) and Cambridge Teaching Schools Network (CTSN).
  • Enabling us to play a positive part in the preparation of a new generation of teachers via programmes such as the Postgraduate Teacher Programme (PGCE), the School Direct Secondary SCITT and School Direct Training Programme (Tuition Fee)
