Home Learning

We believe that effective home learning

  • is an important tool in raising attainment.
  • encourages and develops independent learning and enquiry skills.
  • embeds the knowledge and skills learned in lessons.
  • is important in teaching students how to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
  • helps teachers to assess progress and understanding.

Home Learning tasks offer students the chance to further practise and master skills learned within the classroom or to develop their memory and learning of knowledge. Revisiting knowledge on a regular basis through effective Home Learning is proven to strengthen memory and retention so that our students remember more and can build upon prior learning more effectively.
