We are seeking to appoint two inspiring, enthusiastic and vibrant Teachers of Design Technology, to join our well established and collaborative department who welcome forward thinking initiatives and are able to offer a new colleague advice, support and professional development opportunities in a friendly, positive and creative environment.  You will be:

  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven record in raising student attainment;

  • A creative, inventive and dedicated classroom practitioner who shares our vision of achieving excellence and raising further standards of teaching and learning.

The successful candidates will be required to teach across the Design Technology curriculum at KS3, together with one or more GCSE courses from our broad curriculum at KS4.  We offer OCR GCSE Design Technology (split into Timber and Plastic and Timber and Metal with two classes of each per year group) and Eduqas GCSE Food and Nutrition (with three classes per year group).  The opportunity to teach Advanced Level OCR Product Design is available to a suitably qualified candidate.

The Design Technology Department is staffed by experienced teachers who are passionate about their subjects and their teaching.  As a result, all subjects are popular choices; indeed, Design Technology has one of the largest option cohorts at GCSE with approximately 65% of students each year choosing at least one Design Technology option for GCSE.  We have excellent facilities for teaching and learning with all lessons delivered in a specialist suite of workshops and catering rooms.  Design Technology has its own dedicated ICT suites and first-rate CAD/CAM facilities.

This is because leaders have provided them with high-quality training and supported their development well at all levels.  Newly qualified and trainee teachers are passionate advocates of the school and its pupils.
