STUDENT WELLBEING: Thurston Sixth
Sixth Form can be a challenging experience.
Contending with new courses, more demanding work and managing time effectively to meet deadlines can leave students feeling overwhelmed.
That’s why the Sixth Form Team are here to help every step of the way. Heads of Year and the Head of Sixth Form offer an open door policy to students ensuring each student receives support and challenge tailored to their individual needs.
Students at Thurston Sixth are allocated a tutor who, working with the Head of Year and subject staff will closely monitor progress and provide advice and guidance. Students meet with their tutor both individually, and in group tutorials and receive support on study skills, life skills and preparing for life beyond Thurston.
In order to ensure the best use of our extensive study facilities, Thurston Sixth provides students with a full-time Study Supervisor who is on hand to support progress and offer help and guidance.
