Transport: Thurston SixthThurston Sixth, Beyton Campus is located just off the A14 and is served by Suffolk County Council's school buses, as well as public bus service's from Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket.
In addition a free shuttle bus runs from Thurston train station to the Beyton Campus.
Post 16 Discretionary Travel
Suffolk County Council offer a subsidised travel scheme to students aged 16 to 19, known as Post 16 Discretionary Travel Policy. Students who are offered post 16 discretionary transport will have to make a payment towards the cost each term. From September 2016 the cost is £200 per seat per term. This charge will increase each year by £10 per term (£30 per year). This charge represents a contribution towards the cost, Suffolk County Council will meet the balance.
Post 16 Discretinary Travel is offered to a choice of either the students nearest Sixth Form center or their nearest post 16 centre which is over 3 miles from their home address.

Public Bus Service
- Bury St Edmunds - Galloway Travel Group runs a public bus service from Bury St Edmunds that meets the College times.
Students who attend the Beyton Sixth Form Campus, who travel from Bury St Edmunds to Thurston Community College will be able to use the TN384 public bus service to the Thurston Campus, free onward travel is provided by the College to the Beyton Campus.
10 single journey tickets may be purchased directly from the coach driver, prices are available from Galloway Travel 01449 766323.
- Stowmarket - Mulleys Motorways runs a public bus service from Stowmarket, Wetherden and Elmswell this service transports students directly to the Beyton Campus. Single, return and weekly tickets may be purchased directly from the coach driver, termly tickets are also available. The Endeavour Card offers discount on both these public bus services, see details below.
The College provide a free shuttle bus service from Thurston train station at 08.55 and again at 15:18. This shuttle bus service runs to coinincide with the timings of the trains from both Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket. Abellio Greater Anglia offer discounted fares for regular travellers www.abelliogreateranglia.co.uk/tickets-fares/discounts.
Trainline also offer deals on train tickets.
The Endeavour Card scheme offers anyone aged 16 to 19 years old a minimum discount of 25% off full price adult fares on participating bus services. Students can have an Endeavour Card and have post 16 discretionary transport.
Courtesy bus from Thurston Community College
The College provides a free courtesy bus to and from Thurston Community College, the bus also collects and drops off at various places in Thurston village. Please contact the College for further details 01359 234546.
The College provides four late buses on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, all late buses leave Beyton Sixth Form Campus at 16:30 and Thurston Campus at 16:45. The Late Buses provide complimentary transport for all Thurston Community College students to villages within our catchment area.
